The project included timber flooring fitted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.loughtoncontracts.com\/\">Loughton Contracts Plc<\/a> and high-tech double glazed pods for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unifor.it\/en\">UniFor<\/a>. With his meticulous attention to detail Dan wanted to find a solution to covering the expansion gap between the wood floor and partition glazing. He wanted a join that was neater than silicone, that couldn&#8217;t be seen through the glazing but complemented the sleek black lines of the office. This is when he approached David Sharp (Director of Floor Trim Systems &amp; IDL UK) who created the perfect solution &#8211; <em>TrimAce<\/em>. Using his thirty plus years of engineering experience, David manufactured this solid expansion joint device which simply pushes into the expansion gap whilst still allowing the timber floor to expand and contract. This new type of floor trim is made of two pieces of aluminium and filled with absorbing foam so it can compress as the wood floor moves. The trim was then powder coated in black to match the frame of the glazed office pods resulting in a neat modern edge along the corridors, everyone involved was really pleased with the solution.\u00a0<\/p><p>Dan described the project, &#8220;it is great when contractors find solutions to problems that aren&#8217;t just practical but also aesthetically pleasing.\u00a0<em>TrimAce <\/em>was created and installed quickly, giving a high standard finish, resulting in another happy customer.&#8221;<\/p><p>Following the success for the floor trim in the Hellman &amp; Friedman office, architects and interior designers from all across the country have been interested in\u00a0<em>TrimAce.\u00a0<\/em>This demand has meant the range of materials and finishes it is available in has been extended to suit all commercial and residential designs.\u00a0<\/p><p>David looks to the future of Floor Trim Systems &#8220;<em>TrimAce<\/em>&#8221; started as just a simple solution for one project but since it has shown to be very effective and popular by architects. Hopefully we will continue to provide solutions for all different types of projects for years to come and we look forward to working with Overbury &amp; Loughtons again soon.&#8221;<\/p><p>The current project Overbury and Floor Trim Systems are working on together is using the trim as an expansion joint for a wall, so watch this space for more
