TrimAce: product data sheet

Floor trim function and application.

TrimAce is a floor expansion joint filled with close cell foam which allows it to be compressed by 5mm and then return to original form.

The standard size fits within a 14mm wide rebate at the floor edge or interfaces such as timber/stone, timber/vinyl and timber/carpet. It can be used between walls, wood panelling, mullions and partition glazing without the need for bonding or fixing.

It is simply pushed into the rebate and can be done by the floor fitter (providing the rebate or slot is prepared in accordance with the TrimAce installation instructions).

TrimAce has been designed and tested to withstand 50kg of loading psi to ensure durability.

TrimAce is available in two standard depths (13mm and 15mm) to suit the most commonly specified timber flooring products. However, it can also be made in 18mm and 21mm depths.

This floor expansion joint is sold in 2.5 meter lengths and pre-mitred corner sections are available and can be cut with basic hand tools. It can also be shaped to fit around curved rooms and glazing unlike beading.

Finish options include powder coated aluminium or steel, polished / brushed stainless steel or brass, silver and gold anodised.

If needed it can be taken out, reused, replaced or resprayed without having to remove the flooring, making it a more environmentally friendly option compared to silicone.

Although any RAL colour is possible the standard hard wearing powder coated finishes for the aluminium and steel trims are:

  • Black – RAL 9005
  • White – RAL 9016
  • Grey / beige  – RAL 1019 (Mapei – sand 133)
  • Mid grey – RAL 7038

  • Tiger bronze – RAL 8040
